Tok puts his hand in boiling water for his vow, and we were on the edge of our seats wondering if he'd be punished as a sinner, but since he truly believes in his cause, let's hope it all goes well. I knew about the Muromachi-era trial by ordeal, but seeing him handle such intense heat so calmly really shows his strength. I was surprised to learn that the clear difference in Shoya's reading and writing skills was an anime-original detail, but it's great to see it woven so well into the story. Suddenly, things turn musical with Ono no Komachi appearing and everyone starting to dance—it's looking like a fun development! I wonder what happens next for Tok and how Shoya will continue to grow.
