When the main theme played alongside the fireworks, I got hit hard by the composer’s comment about composing it specifically for this scene, and I ended up crying along. Using heart-shaped fireworks for both of them really showed their intention to convey their feelings—it was stylish and made me feel a bit shy. Thinking about how Fuyuzuki endured chemo, even bringing out her bear plushie, just to wait for this moment, Kazuno’s expression right after the fireworks lit up felt so heavy and meaningful. Organizing an unauthorized fireworks display of that scale must be a bureaucratic nightmare, yet they managed to pull off such a bold confession—it’s amazing they could do it! With only two episodes left in the OP and talk of moving to a hospital in Hokkaido, I’m so excited to see what happens next.
