With Miwara Him-chan stepping in, the childhood friend gets the 'loser heroine' treatment. It’s a classic trope, but it still gives you that heart-fluttering feeling. I really love her strong, confident look, showing she doesn’t need just any prince to be happy. The scene where she drops her eco-bag due to an intervention from the past feels fresh, blending the modern world with the extraordinary. I’m also curious about the mermaid girl’s seafood-loving dinner table. The end card shows Lala watching over the realistic course of love, which is so typical of Inui Mai’s writing and leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Plus, Lala looking curiously out the train window in the OP, with its original animation touches, evokes a sweet sense of nostalgia. I’m really looking forward to what happens next!
