It was supposedly "the most painful scene so far," but it really hit Mari right in the feels! Can we get a face-punch from Pappa next week?

Mari’s line, "You’re just lonely..." paired with that expression on the end card is absolutely heart-wrenching. You totally get why the voice actress called it her most painful scene yet. Pappa might be stubborn and hate humans, but she ends up getting dragged along anyway—kind of like how mermaids and humans are all victims in their own way. "Don’t come" is basically a flag waiting to happen. Even as Lala races against the clock to regain her light, she’s still drawn to the human world. It feels like her bond with Mari is what gives her that strength. Now I’m dying to know where Mari went... I might not be able to wait until next week! If we get to see Pappa land a punch, though, I think I can hold on.
