The scene where Old Pompolá went around saying his final goodbyes to close relatives was so peaceful yet just hit right in the feels. Seeing that mischievous spirit passed down through three generations really makes you cherish the history of these forest cats even more. A lot of people say young Pompolá was a heartthrob, and sure enough, he has a different kind of charm compared to the calm old man he is now. It’s also touching to see how Haibuchi’s tastes are deeply inherited from his master—it really makes you reflect on what it means to carry on a lineage. Also, I learned that Ket-Chee, the 'cat who lives in the forest,' can gobble up grapes without issue, but they’re actually toxic to ordinary cats. Knowing that now gives me a little chill! I only ever thought of them as 'oh, he’s eating that fruit' while watching the anime. Reading about someone watching it while hugging their son made me feel like I was holding my breath quietly in front of the screen myself. It was such a warm ending that you just want to whisper, 'Isn't this perfect?'
