After being urged by Uryu to return the All-Knowing, the Emperor essentially brushed off Orihime's Event Rejection. I was torn between whether it was a future or past alteration, but mostly just relieved that Isshin didn't die. The name Rikujōkōrō (Six Heavens Death Shield) is such a fitting, ironic touch for Orihime, who wants to protect everyone while regretting her powerlessness—it’s bittersweet and I love it. It also makes sense that the Emperor ships Ichigo x Orihime, and Uryu’s obliviousness was a fun twist. The pacing of Tensa Zangetsu breaking was so good I couldn’t help but laugh, but seeing Chappy’s gloomy face really drove home the despair. Can’t wait to see how the "Because we're friends" payoff plays out next.
