Episode 11
A top Chinese restaurant goes all out to recreate the legendary non-existent pigeon blood dessert... This food battle is getting seriously intense!
Everyone's Reactions
It’s wild to think that pigeon blood dessert was completely fictional. Even though pigeons exist, this specific dish didn’t—so I was like, 'Wait, if there’s enough gelatin in pigeon eggs to set into jelly when cooked, then that visual totally makes sense!' I also noticed how clever the editing was last time. Instead of showing Jan and the judge back-to-back like they did with the knife-cut noodles, they captured her confident expression perfectly even without that classic face-off pose. Big props to the editor! And wow, Sai actually recreated the dish on screen! The version using duck blood had this lovely rose aroma and sweetness, crumbling away just like sesame paste. Just imagining it made my stomach rumble. The judges’ over-the-top reactions and Lu’s dramatic 'slashing pigeons' antics are escalating so hard that it feels less like a cooking show and more like a battle shonen in disguise. It’s awesome! Plus, it’s great that we can now watch it on terrestrial TV on Sunday evenings. I’m really curious to see what kind of blood-soaked challenges await next!
