The title 'Late-Night Study Session' might sound stuffy, but watching Etsuya-senpai struggle to study is just so endearing. The mother-daughter banter, where they have to settle things with a fighting game to decide who gets to play, feels a bit like domestic drama on the surface, but you can really feel the love underneath. Seeing them push through their sacrifices to do what they want feels like a moment of growing up, which is just so touching. Etsuya-senpai's cute protests about not wanting to study make you want to squeeze her in a hug, and the warm illustration on the end card is lovely too. I'm looking forward to the next episode since it seems like this gentle yet grounded vibe will continue.
