Episode 12

Everyone's Reactions

In the final episode, almost all the main characters showed up, and even the department manager made an appearance. Seeing them all there gave me this cozy feeling that we’ve properly returned to this world. The director mentioned that they left the final conversation entirely up to the "two of them," and I heard that the line "Let's talk, a lot" after the ED was actually improvised! It felt like we were just letting ourselves be carried away by their time together. I thought it was so sweet that they even drew frames for those ad-libs. It was a bit surprising to see Sasaki get banned, but it was such a reassuring ending because it felt like the distance they’d slowly closed over 12 episodes would continue as is. Taysan’s habit of quietly waiting before starting to speak about Sasaki—she was called cute for that in the director’s comments—and I really felt that little detail alone radiated their relationship. A tweet saying "I didn’t even realize my corners of my mouth were turning up" really hit home. It’s a work that makes you want to sincerely say, thank you for this gently warming time.
