The hand-drawn OP is so heartwarming it gives you chills, and you can't help but tear up watching Lara get tossed around by Shiga!
The OP for episode 2 is absolutely lovely, with that soft, cel-animation texture that makes you want to watch it over and over. It’s a different kind of beauty from the crispness of digital, with a depth that really touches your heart. Watching Lara run through the streets of Shiga, getting buffeted by the Biwako Line and Lake Biwa but pushing forward with all her might, is just so endearing. Her expression in the end card also feels surprisingly dependable. You can really feel the passion of the staff who handled the key animation and in-betweens shining through in both the OP and ED. It’s giving me strong vibes that this is going to be a legendary work. Looks like the scriptwriter is changing for the next episode, so I can’t take my eyes off how Lara will spend her time in Shiga, not to mention what’s going on with Pokopee. This story, packed with the warmth of production, is definitely one I’ll keep cheering for.
