Episode 12
While the whole production team is egging her on to just say it, Mari’s stubborn refusal hits hard in the finale.
Everyone's Reactions
The final episode is over... It feels like Mari has been by my side for the past three months, so the word "the end" still doesn't quite feel real. Even though the director, writer, and episode director are all crowding her, demanding she say "Sayonara Lala!", Mari’s cool "I won’t" response felt so perfectly in character that it made me smile. She claims she doesn’t need love, but eventually lands on the line, "I want to stay in a world where you’re there tomorrow too." Because this series leaves so much unsaid, that one line hit me with such weight that I almost cried. I saw Lala take on her Princess form in the finale; she looked like she’d leaped right out of a fairy tale. I really liked how Ruk ended up becoming someone who lives in the human world. It’s not quite a full "goodbye," but I feel like we’ll meet again, which brings a little peace of mind... Thank you, Mari-chan and Lala-san.
