So the female Kappa-maki was voiced by Emi Ogata all along! It’s super fun that she’s set up as sushi rather than a yokai or spirit. The banter before she gets eaten by the crocodile—"Wait, you were a girl all along?"—was adorable. Chiba Shigeki’s narration is also getting more ad-libby and hyped up with each episode. The quirky characters, like the Propeller Shaft spirit and Tetsuru Nara’s manhole cover, are all so distinctive, and their contrast with Shura’s cuteness is great. I’m really looking forward to what fun twists come next in the next episode of Kaidai!
