Episode 28

Ranma’s silent, husbandly act of wiping up Akane’s spilled tea is so touching... Plus, with Yoko Nakazawa and Mayumi Tanaka on set for the Fighting Tea Ceremony arc, the vibe is absolutely insane.

Everyone's Reactions

It was truly moving to see Yoko Nakazawa join the cast on her 90th birthday. Seeing her alongside Mayumi Tanaka, Jun Fukuyama, and Saori Hayami, with a mix of young talent and veterans, really makes you appreciate the incredible atmosphere on set. When Akane spills her tea all over the place, Ranma quietly wipes it up for her. Watching him cover for his wife’s clumsiness as such a good husband was so heartwarming. And then, right after that, Ranma flies off in a jealous rage! The transition from gentle husband to furious fighter in an instant is pure Ranma 1/2 charm. From the opening sauna scene where Genma and Soun are having a great time, to the new character who’s definitely a weirdly handsome guy, this episode really captures the essence of the series. It looks like Episode 29 will also be streaming on Netflix, so I’m dying to see how the succession battle for the Daibungo-ryu Fighting Tea Ceremony concludes.
