Wajima's scheme leaves us sweating, while the Emperor gets caught in the middle, and the cool, lingering gazes between Ryumon and Garai are just too much!
Wajima's strategy is terrifyingly realistic for us otaku—she's hiding her resources while wrapping them in the noble cause of subduing Yamato. Watching the Emperor sweat as he's torn between the Heike and Ryumon, I found myself sympathizing with him more than I expected. Their interactions are hilarious because, even though their eyes meet, their hearts don't quite connect. Plus, that ridiculously melodramatic guy makes a quiet appearance again, making us wonder if he might actually be the mastermind. The episode 5 illustrations are adorable, featuring Sakura-mochi and the senior cast, giving this political drama a cozy, heartwarming vibe.
