Episode 8

Everyone's Reactions

Kurobane's sleek black fur blends beautifully with the ambient lighting in the OP, and it was so soothing to watch how it kept that soft, bouncy look without turning into a black blob. I was also happy to see Haibuchi's tail movements clearly in the OP, which makes me excited to hunt for the missing story moments as a manga fan. Stan has been trained by the Cat Hero and the Court Mages, so the setting that he's actually pretty strong despite his looks is surprisingly good. In this world where adventurers gauge power by their magic output, you might think they'd get wrecked at first glance, but I feel this episode really captures the charm of the series by focusing on castle town life. Since episode 9 is getting an early release, I think I'll take my time collecting the end cards and novels while catching up!
