Turning the entire diary entries into visuals really shows how serious Studio Bind is getting. I’m worried about how the non-readers are handling it, since even those of us who’ve read the source material felt like our breath was taken away. Rudeus is actually fully aware of everything as he keeps saying "It's Hito-gami's fault," but I can tell he just can't forgive himself for making excuses. That look of regret stays with you long after the episode ends. The drinking scenes hit hard. He was told to drink when he couldn't bear the pain, but now it feels like that’s all he has left—it really stings when you realize he’s becoming more like his old man. It’s funny watching Elise get led around by the nose by rumors and seeing Great Rudeus pop up, but thinking about what kind of "resolve" is coming next makes it hard to laugh.
