Mao's intense reaction to the Cat Demon and her banter with Nanaka are absolutely top-tier! The way action and music blend together creates such an uplifting vibe...!
Episode 5 really shines with its amazing synergy between action and music. The OP is cool as always, but I also love how the ED shifts from a mysterious, mellow tune to an upbeat tempo—it fits the end of the episode perfectly. I especially love the pacing of Mao and Nanaka's conversation; Nanaka's treatment is a bit funny, but it really conveys the growing closeness between them. Mao's wild, almost comical focus on the Cat Demon is so endearing. The bug venom juice looked like a smoothie, and as someone with tick and flea allergies, I could totally feel the sting! It was also cool to see the Seki-ishi revealed as a vampire, especially with the scene of him cutting through the barrier with his sword. I'm curious if the truth behind that event will be revealed in the next episode—my expectations are high! The supporting cast, like Otogi and Uomoto, also held their own, making this a solid, satisfying episode.
