Episode 4
The android goes wild, stretching past its three rules, bringing that deep, serious vibe from the '80s OVA!
Everyone's Reactions
The Major's line about human rights being diluted as the population grows really struck a chord. The current state of humans being treated worse than robots, combined with the Sexaroid and drug administration episodes, marks a shift from the series' usual comedy to something more serious in episode 4, elevating it to that same vibe as 'Innocence.' The dialogue, echoing themes from 30-40 years ago, feels both classic and fresh, and Nishio's end card was lovely too. Though, it was a bit poignant that the Major's paid leave got canceled. I think I'll be adding more episodes to my watchlist alongside the movies.
