Episode 5

Momoyo gets treated like a kid by the chicken thief, and Liu Gongzi waves his handkerchief with such grace that you can feel the tension rising underneath it all: 'Here comes the next heartbreaker.'

Everyone's Reactions

Ever since episode 5 started airing, there’s been someone insisting that a no-hope storyline is coming soon, and their conviction is making us tense up too. Momoyo says she wants to raise a chicken, and Moya-kun ends up taking care of it, acting more like the mom than anyone else. It’s cute how he dotes on her while she gets completely spoiled, all set against this strangely cozy, white-washed atmosphere that I really love. Then Yunyang-chan is practicing flying when her wings fall off, and she ends up being taken in by a mouse yokai—what a pitiful turn of events! When we learn that Sansan didn’t lose her voice from birth but because of her connection to Yunyang-chan, seeing her make that slightly melancholy face during the ED song hits right in the feels. And Liu Gongzi waving his handkerchief just fits so naturally; everyone in this Capital arc seems so comfortable and at ease, which is such a relief.
