Episode 50

Everyone's Reactions

It’s so relatable that people are heading to friends’ houses just to watch the final episode of BLEACH, even if they don’t have a TV at home. I totally get that feeling—we all want to share those moments together. I was touched to see Kubo-taichou draw new outfits for Chad’s trainer and his opponent specifically for the finale; it really feels like he’s keeping the spotlight on Ichigo and everyone else right until the end, which made me tear up a bit. The line-art style special ending was great—I saw someone comment that Byakuya looked so cool in it, and yeah, they were totally right. The vibe was different from the usual ED, making it a perfect way to close out this long journey. Posts of the staff watching the broadcast together and animators mentioning that this is the longest project they’ve ever worked on really conveyed their heartfelt "thank you" straight to our hearts, leaving me all warm and fuzzy inside. The BD & DVD Box IV and OST III are dropping on 3/24, complete with new color paper illustrations and jackets by Masafumi Kudo. It’s a bittersweet feeling knowing I can stay in this world just a little bit longer.
