Episode 6
The meet-up in front of Hachiko is packed with gyaru vibes! Pumpmon’s frustration at being judged by their looks, and the warm feeling of friendship that comes from just being together, even if it's brief.
Everyone's Reactions
"Pump and Guts are Shibuya-style Digimon"—that title is so striking I keep re-reading it. The scene where they meet up in front of Hachiko with all those Shibuya gyaru descriptions feels like a world that might be hard for today's kids to imagine. Veedramon casually dropping the "Kinn-chan's Costume Contest" reference was so nostalgic I actually said it out loud. It’s been updated to the Shingo version now, but the atmosphere of that era comes through naturally, which is really cool. And did you know this is Angemon’s second evolution ever? Even though it’s been a while since episode 13, the trio of angel, werewolf, and vampire gives it a great Halloween vibe. Pumpmon and Gutsmon were only on screen for about ten minutes, but I totally relate to them feeling underestimated just because of how they look. It really shows that Digimon who stick in your memory are often the ones you enjoy being around. This episode quietly conveys that friendship isn’t about grand gestures—it’s about having fun together.
