Akira Ishida's cold, hellish ears and the dynamic between the aloof older brother and the energetic younger sister are depicted with such high resolution, down to their everyday gestures!
Asma-kun, voiced by Akira Ishida, is just irresistible with that suspicious smile and his 'hellish ears' lines. His voice quality feels raw and visceral, giving off a nostalgic yet fresh vibe. The sibling dynamic is also really fun; the sister's pure-heartedness, which doesn't back down from her brother's aloofness, feels both a bit poignant and endearing. Oh, but I have a strong hunch those two will definitely betray each other! No specific reason, just a gut feeling. Episode 5, scripted by Chiaki Konaka, perfectly blends a horror-like atmosphere with beautifully detailed movements. The bow-hand movements especially are drawn with such care, making it a pleasure to watch. The lore that Tsugai fade away within decades after losing their master also makes perfect sense, explaining why they guard their masters so fiercely. Vaundy's OP 'Tobu Toki' also broke 1 million views even in its non-credit version, which is amazing. Next up is Episode 6, focusing on the Kagemori family and the mysterious attacker. I can't look away as I wonder how the siblings' complicated history will unfold. I'm left feeling warm and excited, thinking back to that 'Can I hug you?' moment.
