The gritty, off-the-cuff banter between Yani and Yaku in the back alleys is pure fire. With such a dense, intense plot, you wouldn't even be surprised if the show got canceled mid-season!
Yani and Yaku's rough-around-the-edges improv in the alleys is so charmingly gruff. Even the city hall staff are going a bit crazy, and the world-building just keeps getting deeper. Plus, the creditless ED is amazing—the song "Smoke and Blue" by Neoclitokyo fits perfectly. The shiny ending is packed with nods to Evangelion and Gaganbo, making it a really satisfying watch. It was so packed with content that it could've ended anytime, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on the next episode.
