Watching Tetia make the dragon happy with her own invented magic feels so warm and cozy, it really tugs at your heartstrings. Agate’s surprised expression and the way everyone looks at her with such kindness and trust are so enviable—it’s hard not to feel that same warmth while watching. The attention to detail in the movement and those perfectly timed musical cuts give it a movie-like quality that feels way beyond a typical TV anime; I’m convinced this is a winner for Best Animation. Every little prop and background color is rendered with such care, and you can truly feel Tetia’s growth and Agate’s worry. What a wonderful episode!
