Having the character names introduced in the OP is such a nice touch—it instantly helps you get a feel for who each girl is and makes them feel approachable. It’s reassuring to have that kind of guidance, so I really appreciate it. It’s also super comforting to see real-life railway workers appear in the ED. It shows genuine respect for the actual industry and proves this isn’t just another moe anime with pretty girls. They don’t skimp on details, like the ticket vending machine animation or the sound effects—the clatter of the diesel cars and all that. Those little touches provide comfort for viewers who pay attention to detail, and you can tell they’ve carefully considered potential nitpicks. The combo of a university club and cute girls is practically guaranteed to work, but what I love most is that it appeals to both rail fans and non-fans alike. The key thing is that the four girls’ relaxed journey doesn’t feel tiring to watch. I might be getting ahead of myself, but I’d love to see more Railway Musume from across Japan in seasons 2 and 3. Just like the old rolling stock culture on the Choshi Electric Railway, each region seems to have its own unique charm, so I’m really looking forward to it.
