That moment when Subaru introduces himself as Natsuki Subaru and gets called "Emilia-tan"—her facial expression alone says "Welcome back" so clearly, it just squeezes your heart. Since this is presented in a digest format from Season 1, you know what's coming, but that familiarity only makes the pain hit harder. The term "DIE-gesture" really hits home too. I love how Louis' fate pairs with the Great Rabbit among the Three Great Demonic Beasts; there's such bitter irony in them killing each other. Plus, seeing Subaru scold her adds a nice touch, making you wonder about the dynamic between those two. His line, "My summer vacation is over," really conveys his resolve to dive into the real battles ahead... I ended up sobbing. With the title callback and all the foreshadowing from episode 1 coming together, I was reminded just how amazing this series' construction truly is in Season 4.
