Fukunaga’s sermon-like rhetoric draws everyone in, as the heat of the restructuring game builds with Nao’s growing certainty of betrayal clashing with her nerves about facing a Karate 5th Dan master.
In Episode 8’s restructuring game, just when it looked like Nao was safe by following Fukunaga’s winning strategy, the plot twists again and keeps us on the edge of our seats. Even though she’s in a tight spot with zero votes for the first three rounds, the reason we end up trusting that beastly Fukunaga actually makes total sense. The OP music video for Yorushika’s "Abuku" was also great, with the man escaping his confined room mirroring the game’s tension. With contract-like rules and votes that test our faith in each other, it’s hard to look away as we wonder who’ll be eliminated next. With only four episodes left until the finale, I’m really looking forward to seeing how Nao’s struggles and Fukunaga’s guru-like behavior all come together.
