Longmen-san’s tea ceremony remained unshaken by the arrows, feeling so much like the classic Empty Fort Strategy that he just elegantly delayed the battle. It was fascinating to see Saint Yi choose to retreat with the whole army after the White Snake’s oracle; it really highlighted the difference in stature between him and the fearless Longmen-san. Also, it was kind of funny how Mouton’s name reverted to the average now that he’s gone. Aoteru-kun’s steady efforts in agricultural reform were refreshing, showing a sincerity that goes beyond just talk. The anime staff did a perfect job capturing the charm of the original work, so I’m even more excited for the upcoming Longmen vs. Tora showdown!
