The Cowardly Sword shines bright! Tokiyori and Fubuki’s twin slashes are packed with strategic passion...
The setup where Tokiyori hides his true birth and name, while Fubuki conceals her origins, serves as a great foreshadowing for the two names of Uesugi and Nagao merging into one. It really gets me excited for the birth of the strongest warrior of the Sengoku era! Aya-ko praised the "Cowardly Sword" as amazing, but Tokiyori getting a cute injury—ribs fractured from being hugged by his allies—is so typical of him. I also loved how Jiro’s "Roam the hell touching demons" and Shizuku’s "Watch the eyeball snake get swallowed whole" lines perfectly captured the vibe of this episode. The Shoukan-dono seems to have shifted her perspective after encountering light, so I can’t wait to see how her bond with Tokiyori resolves in next week’s Episode 10 on June 19th. While the limits of divided inheritance and the strategy-nerd-worthy developments are fun, this episode was ultimately heartwarming, focusing on the journey of Tokiyori and Fubuki.
