This collab episode with the Birdman Contest is great. It’s a bummer that the time change caused some 'live-viewing refugees,' but it lets you enjoy it at a more relaxed pace. It’s so sweet to see Heiji, who’s apparently a huge fan of the event every year, getting tips from Kazuha. The script by Takahiro Ohkura feels like movie quality, and it’s extra special that Shinichi himself voices the commentator! Plus, it’s fun to see the gas stove sponsor (Iwatani) get blown up in the case—it really shows off their friendly vibe. Leon’s singing and Ran’s mom’s face are adorable too. I can’t wait for next week’s second part!
