Episode 53

Everyone's Reactions

With the callout that mercury isn't organic mercury, copper turning into silver, butterflies flying off and burning, and mercury being ingested, it all felt like we were being shown summer vacation science projects. It’s cute seeing everyone do their little experiments, and I’m curious about the secrets behind the tricks. Seeing how much people are talking about "being treated like an old lady!" made me think that someone (Fueru) looked adorably pouty. Even though Luo Ban claims not to take bribes, he even showed up for the disguise show, and there was this vibe that he might get scolded by the shopkeeper. I really enjoyed today's episode. Chao Chao’s front teeth changing might be a bit late for her age, but the staff commented that they kept it as is because it looks clear visually. It’s reassuring to know they’re paying attention to these little details. The recap of the Inner Palace arc has also started streaming, so we can rewatch Season 1 before the movie release. I’m looking forward to next week's main episode!
