Hearing Escaflowne stream from the TV this week might have been my happiest moment. It felt like I was riding an express train along the emotion line, making me feel so happy that I could sing well for another week. They were doing Aladdin during the cultural festival arc, right? Miki’s acting seemed to really shine, and it was subtly cute how Koyun and Mitsuko served as stagehands. Seeing tweets praising the gooey Koyun and the voice-cracking Miki makes me imagine this episode was full of adorable chibi-style moments. The dynamic between Minato and Momoka has been off since after the play; she looked like she could barely swallow her pancakes, struggling with that tense atmosphere. It’s a bit frustrating how their choice to stay friends seems to end up hurting each other. And episode 20 flew by in seconds... Next episode drops on Netflix at 0:30! I can’t wait to watch it.
