Everyone's Reactions

The author really went for raw realism by giving the protagonist a dating history where they only dated because there was a practical reason to, and rejected people because there was a good excuse to. But this episode made me feel like the bond between close friends who know each other well is way more precious than a tense romantic relationship. Igarashi-kun can be oblivious and dismissive of others, but he’s lovable because he’s honest with himself. The scene where their monologues, which shouldn’t mix, gently draw closer together felt like gears meshing, offering a beauty different from typical romantic excitement. Plus, it was touching that Yoko-chan called out Koyun-chan for her bad attitude—only someone close enough could see it that way. Episode 18, "Remission," lived up to its title as things started to loosen up. Can’t wait for the next one.
