The reruns of the Mugen Train arc have finally started, and I’ve been buzzing with excitement all morning. Seeing how Rengoku’s mannerisms mirror his father’s really warmed my heart—it turns out he’s been imitating his dad’s slightly gruff movements since he was a kid, and just knowing that makes me want to cry. People say that while “I’ll definitely tell my father” seems like a casual remark, rewatching it with everything in mind changes the emotion behind it, and they’re absolutely right; I ended up tearing up. Also, I realized I get hungry just thinking about whether those were daikon radish or yam grates during the soba scene, so I’m relieved to know I’m not alone! I’m looking forward to next episode’s “Deep Slumber” too—I totally get the urge to shout at Rengoku to hop on the train before it departs!
