Isshu's mom is tough, but her grace and kindness make her so charming that her arrogance feels completely justified. Shizuku and Toomi both look at wine through the lens of their life experiences, and it's convincing how they reach the same conclusion despite their different approaches. Now that the Sixth Apostle has been decided, their clear-eyed, unburdened expressions after the loss feel surprisingly reassuring. The depth of this story, where characters face themselves through wine, combined with the theme song and nostalgic ending, made it a perfect watch for the Obon season.
