We're in the second half and the finale is creeping up, but President Oshina's flashback revealing that Mao has been a colleague all along? Total shock. I was so relieved to hear Sakaewe survived now that we know magical girls are basically lab rats, though there's a slight chill down my spine at that thought. Watching Kan-chan walk her talk about 'ethics within confusion' really warms my heart—she's grown so much. While Mao is radiating an aura so intense it might be spawning anomalies herself, Kan-chan's inner strength is the saving grace here. After the commercial break, the sudden shift to marriage-hunting talk and everyone seemingly chugging caffeine non-stop, plus that perfect choice of giving Shinshu the legendary Belgian chocolate... I keep marveling at how gutsy this company's staff are every episode. More shocks seem to be on the horizon next week, so I can't look away as we dig deeper into the dynamic between Mao and President Oshina.
