The excuse of 'I'm brainwashed because I can't remove the ring' feels a bit cheap, making you want to shout out, 'Why not just take it off in the first place?' The ring disappears without warning or activates even when not held, getting treated so carelessly like Geass that you can't help but complain, 'Take better care of it!' With the monk also making an appearance, you're left wondering what happens next, half-expecting that cursed ring to cause more trouble.
