Seeing Koichi step in brings back that slap from episode 1, and it’s not just his talent that hits you—it’s his heart, pressing right into your chest!
In the final episode, I got so touched knowing that the pitch-black painting was drawn just for Koichi. When Koichi steps in, you really feel the fear and kindness of the 'real-life shonen manga protagonist' that Sakuma had been thinking about, and it makes you realize you don’t have to be a genius to be okay. That line about capturing not just what’s in the frame but also the mood of the space around it really sums up the vibe of this series. They even let us hear the OP and ED one last time at the end, and I feel like I could listen to them forever. This finale, which the author says mirrors her three life experiences, left me feeling so happy, like I got to end it all alongside her.
