It’s a relief that the poison-taster survived, but the cliffside confession scene felt so much like a hot-blooded shonen drama that it was really fun. The suspense of realizing the poison had been swapped out, despite it being so obvious, gave it that classic 2-hour TV drama vibe in another world. I’m curious about how they’ll handle the old man before the couple gets all cozy, but Snake-kun waiting patiently in bed is adorable, and the way he approaches the elf bride is exciting to watch. Don’t miss next week’s episode on July 23rd—see how Arc’s deadly poison is resolved and check out his insane eating skills! Also, his disguise as a statue is intriguing, but the surreal scene of him hooking that giant shark is just too funny.
