Episode 7, "Feathers," was over before we knew it! It was fun seeing Kaku Kaioh settle into his role as Retsu's master. He's such a powerhouse, yet he gets treated like a bit of a punching bag for Orga, which made me chuckle. The way Retsu and Koki are baffled by Honbu's strength is something any fan can relate to. Retsu lining up his swords and spears in the sand, stepping into the fight in peak condition, looks incredibly reliable. The moment Shoryu completes his technique and shouts, "Th-this is it!" and Musao's cool cross-cut of a falling leaf really came through with great anime impact. His keen interest in the writer and his words about wanting to "protect" feel like they hit the core of this battle. I'm looking forward to seeing how Shao Li and Izo move next, and I want to watch them grow stronger, light and sure-footed like feathers.
